Product description

The rainbow team was known for representing the background diversity of players. From all corners of the globe. From places such as Africa, the Caribbean, Pacific Islands, Basque Country “It was a moment of communion” as the former defender Marcel Desailly stated, after winning the title at home.

Also, the Portuguese-Spanish Robert Pires praised the win in a team with football heavyweights like Zidane, Patrick Vieira, Laurent Blanc. Djorkaeff, Deschamps (captain), Henry, Barthez, Thuram, Trezeguet and many many more.

Here we could say that the rainbow also extends to the talent depth in the team. All the big European teams were represented and set to give France their first World Cup title. Not everything was a walk in the park as Les Blues faced enormous criticism over past performances. With a 3-0 win against South Africa, they managed to relieve some tension.

The road to glory was marked by a 2-1 against Denmark, 4-3 after a penalty shootout against Italy, 4-0 over Saudi Arabia, 1-0 over Paraguay a 2-1 (they stater losing) on the semi-finals against Croatia.

The final was the historic 3-0 against Brazil with Zidane scoring twice and the Brazilian superstar Ronaldo with a painful exhibition after a mysterious pre-match injury still to be identified as we sleepwalked during the 90 minutes.
